Las Vegas is referred as ‘Sin City’ for many different reasons.
One of the main reasons that they call Las Vegas ‘Sin City’ is simply because people commit “sins” when they are there.
Gambling
With all of the gambling opportunities, people are sometimes irresponsible with their money and will spend than they actually have and to many people, this is considered to be a sin. Some people consider gambling it self to be a sin and therefore Las Vegas might be the sin capital of the world because of all of the gambling opportunities available.
Prostitution
A main reason people call Las Vegas ‘Sin City’ is because there are activities that are common place such as prostitution. It is fair to say that most people look at prostitution as a sin. Keep in mind that prostitution is NOT legal in Clark county which is the home of Las Vegas but is legal in other counties that have brothels. Although its not legal in Vegas, it is not that hard to find a single woman sitting at either a hotel bar or slot machine giving you the eye. Just be careful and remember it is not legal in Las Vegas. Your best bet might be to download a dating app like Tinder and searching for a local hook up or just talking to some girls that are looking to have some fun on their vacation.
Drugs
What is LEGAL in Vegas and Nevada is recreational marijuana. Now some people will not include weed as a drug but the federal government still does.Vegas has numerous dispensaries that will sell you anything from the flower to high potency edibles. A popular weed destination is Planet 13 which is not too far off the strip. Now if you’re looking for something stronger, with a little effort you can find whatever you like. So ready availability of drugs is another reason for name Sin City.
Alcohol
Booze are a HUGE part of the Vegas experience, so much so that it’s legal to walk in the street with open containers. Every place you turn you can a get an ice cold beer or a shot. Again, it’s not necessarily a sin but some people do frown upon people who consume large amounts of alcohol.
